Akansha and Krunal scripted history with first-ever Indian wedding at Pyramids of Giza

Akansha Bakshi and Krunal Pardiwala’s wedding was never meant to be ordinary. From the very beginning, their story has been shaped by a shared vision and a love for experiences that carry meaning. That spirit came alive when the couple chose Cairo, Egypt, as the setting for their four-day wedding celebration, held from January 23 to 26, 2026, at The St Regis New Capital.

The celebration made history on multiple fronts. It marked the first Indian wedding hosted at The St Regis New Capital and the first-ever Indian sangeet staged at the Pyramids of Giza. More than a destination wedding, it was a curated narrative that built towards an unforgettable moment where Indian celebrations met one of the world’s most iconic landmarks.

A proposal that set the tone

Long before Cairo entered the picture, the couple's story reached a defining moment in Santorini. Against the whitewashed architecture and blue domes overlooking the Aegean Sea, Pardiwala proposed to Bakshi in a dreamlike setting. It was a quiet yet powerful beginning to a journey that would later unfold on a global stage, particularly, the Pyramids of Giza. 
 

The Cairo celebrations

Each event in Cairo was intentionally crafted to build toward the historic sangeet at the Pyramids. The celebrations opened with Ace of Hearts and King of Love, a dramatic black, white, and red evening featuring immersive LED staging and performances by Danish and Shabbab Sabri.

The next day brought The ‘I Do’s’, an intimate English wedding in soft Ladurée-inspired pastels. That evening, Echoes of the Pharaohs unfolded at the Pyramids of Giza. Guests arrived in personalised convoys, led by a Bentley carrying the couple, and the night came alive with performances by Kanika Kapoor and Sajid.

The festivities concluded with Roman Reverie, an Indian wedding and grand reception complete with a supercar-led baraat, pastel decor, fountains, live music, and a dramatic ballroom finale.

Personal details that made it unforgettable

From custom kaleeras featuring symbolic charms to a veil inscribed with “When the universe was ready, it wrote: Akansha ♥ Krunal,” every detail reflected their story. Thoughtful nods to tradition, family, and destiny were woven throughout, ending with fireworks that lit up the Cairo skyline.

In every sense, Bakshi and Pardiwala's wedding was not just a celebration of love, but a moment where legacy met history, and a relationship found its place on a truly global canvas.
