Prarthnaa and Akhil brought their loved ones together for a vibrant three-day celebration in Hua Hin.

Prarthnaa and Akhil Pruthi’s love story began at a wedding, where they felt an instant familiarity that neither could quite explain. Pruthi, who grew up in Delhi, and Prarthnaa, who was raised in Mumbai, went on to build a relationship across cities, spending much of their time apart. Yet distance never became a source of doubt. Their relationship grew through patience, trust and the easy comfort of knowing they had found someone who felt like home.

When it came to their own wedding, the couple chose a destination that reflected something they both loved: the ocean. From November 28 to 30, 2025, they brought 270 family members and friends to Baba Beach Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, for three days of celebrations. Despite the size of the guest list, the wedding remained intimate, with the people around them playing an active part in every event.

The celebrations began with a relaxed welcome lunch overlooking the sea, giving guests arriving from different parts of the world a chance to settle into the weekend. That evening, the mood shifted for Desi Disco-Chique, a lively sangeet filled with music, dancing, and performances from family and friends. It was energetic, but also personal, with the evening centred around the people who had been part of the couple’s journey.

The following day brought Tropical Mehendi by the beach. With the ocean stretching out behind them, guests gathered for mehendi, music, and plenty of conversation as the sun went down. The laid-back setting suited the couple’s vision for a celebration that felt relaxed rather than overly formal.

On the final day, the festivities continued with an Amalfi-inspired haldi, bringing both families together for an afternoon of colour, blessings and laughter. Later, Prarthnaa and Pruthi exchanged vows in an oceanfront ceremony surrounded by their loved ones. The traditional pheras took place against the sea, bringing together the rituals of the wedding with the destination that had become such an important part of their celebration.

The wedding also carried the memory of another special destination. Pruthi had proposed during a surprise holiday to Rome and Vienna, where he presented Prarthnaa with her dream ring. Vienna also gave the couple a song that has since become meaningful to them: Billy Joel’s Vienna, which they associate with the patience, growth, and journey that brought them together.

Their reception brought the three days to a close, with more dancing, celebrations, and time with the people they had travelled so far to have around them. From a chance meeting at another couple’s wedding to years of long-distance and finally a wedding by the sea, Prarthnaa and Pruthi's celebration was a reflection of a relationship built on certainty, togetherness, and the simple feeling of being home with each other.
