Planned across continents, the intimate celebration blended Goan tradition, global influences, and effortless charm.

Teodora and Mario’s love story began in Budapest, deepened across ten countries, and found its most beautiful expression under Goan skies. Both working in hospitality and now based in Scotland, the couple envisioned a wedding that felt less like an event and more like an intimate, joyfully unhurried experience. What followed was a destination celebration that seamlessly blended cultures, aesthetics, and emotion, all planned from thousands of miles away.

A love story that felt like an adventure

Teodora and Mario first met at work in Budapest, where a shared passion for travel and people brought them closer. Their easy connection soon strengthened into a relationship defined by adventure: ten countries, countless memories, and eventually, a move to Scotland. Living abroad strengthened their bond in quiet, meaningful ways, relying on each other as their constant.

When it came to their wedding, the couple knew that they didn’t want anything overwhelming. Instead, they imagined a relaxed, destination-style celebration where their closest friends and family could truly be present. Despite the distance (7,000kms!), Teodora and Mario planned almost everything online, making just one visit to Goa before finalising their venue. Their choice, Blu Resorts Vagator, instantly felt right. With its charming cottages, lush gardens, and naturally beautiful setting, it offered the perfect canvas for their tropical garden vision.

Celebrations touched by tradition

With around 100 guests in attendance, the wedding felt intimate yet full of life. The festivities began with a traditional Goan Roce ceremony, an ode to local culture and community.

Décor leaned into the beauty of the surroundings: bamboo accents, coconuts, rattan textures, and a lush mix of tropical florals including birds of paradise and orchids. Warm festoon lights draped across trees created a golden glow as evening fell, while rattan lounge seating, and thoughtful touches like a coconut welcome cart and interactive food stations added a sense of playful authenticity.

The overall mood was effortless, like stepping into a sun-drenched garden party that slowly turned into a celebration under the stars. For the ceremony, held at the iconic Mae De Deus Church, Teodora made a choice that beautifully reflected the spirit of the wedding. Instead of a traditional white gown, she wore a beautiful white lehenga, an elegant fusion of Indian craftsmanship and classic bridal sensibility.

The celebrations concluded with an open-air reception beneath softly lit trees and a canopy of warm lights. At the centre of the lawn, a wooden dance floor became the heart of the celebration. Teodora and Mario’s first dance set the tone, followed by spirited performances, from the bride with her bridesmaids to the groom with his groomsmen, turning the evening into a joyful, high-energy celebration.

Dinner flowed into dancing, laughter into late-night conversations, and the entire space seemed to hum with a sense of togetherness.

A wedding that felt exactly like them

Designed across continents yet deeply rooted in its destination, Teodora and Mario’s wedding was a reflection of everything they value: connection, culture, and the beauty of shared experiences. Captured through the lens of Jumping Souls, the celebration lives on in images that feel as warm and vibrant as the moments themselves.

Ultimately, it was more than just a wedding, it was also a beautiful gathering of people, places, and stories that had shaped them, coming all together in one memorable chapter.
