Nayab Midha and Ayush Chandhok’s Sri Ganganagar reception was meaningful and intimate

The reception was a heartfelt tribute to Nayab's roots, with cuisine specially curated to reflect the authentic flavors and warmth of Sri Ganganagar. Guests were treated to home-style dishes that captured the essence of Rajasthani hospitality, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and celebratory. For the evening, Nayab wre an ensemble by Jigar and Nikita, while Ayush was styled by Suhaas Grover, blending contemporary elegance with traditional sensibilities.

Nayab and Ayush's journey began in 2014 when they were crowned Ms. and Mr. Freshers at their college, though they wouldn't actually meet until a year later through a mutual friend. Their love story truly took root in 2016 during a foreign exchange program in Malaysia, where they volunteered together at an NGO working with specially abled children. Assigned kitchen duty together, they found love somewhere between chopping vegetables and cooking for their group. 

In a beautiful reversal of tradition, Nayab proposed to Ayush after one of her biggest shows in Delhi, with both families in attendance. Unbeknownst to her, Ayush had secretly been planning his own proposal in London. The couple's three-day wedding celebration took place from October 31 to November 2, 2025, at Sayaji Resorts & Spa in Udaipur, nestled in the heart of the Aravalli hills. The intimate gathering brought together their closest family and friends for a celebration that honored both their Punjabi and Delhi roots while reflecting their commitment to sustainability and conscious celebration.

Working with Epoch Events and Tarashna Management, they planned a zero-waste celebration using artificial florals for décor, real flowers only for rituals, and replacing plastic bottles with reusable glass bottles and water stations. Every detail of their wedding reflected their values and story. The festivities began with a Dhol Night, followed by a vibrant Phulkari-themed Mehendi celebrating Nayab's Punjabi heritage, and an elegant Cocktail Night embodying modern Delhi sophistication. The wedding day featured traditional Haldi ceremonies and nuptials conducted by a female pandit, with the couple exchanging custom vows under the open Udaipur sky.

Nayab wore a Marwar lehenga crafted by women artisans from a Rajasthani NGO, symbolizing empowerment and heritage. Among her jewelry was a treasured piece from her grandmother, Mrs. Lajwanti Devi, brought during Partition and kept in the family ever since. The celebration concluded with a Sufi Night after-party featuring India's Got Talent fame Shaheen Salmani, reflecting the couple's love for Sufi music during their long drives together.

Nayab Midha is a spoken word artist and poet from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, born to a government employee father and businesswoman mother. Ayush Chandhok is a software developer from Delhi, where his father runs his own business and his mother is a homemaker. Both come from simple, middle-class families and remain grounded in the values they grew up with.
