Inside Tanya and Mukesh’s spectacular 25th wedding anniversary in Sri Lanka
Tanya and Mukesh’s anniversary milestone unfolded as a four-day journey of joy, elegance, and togetherness.
Marking their 25th wedding anniversary, Tanya and Mukesh envisioned a celebration that was intimate yet grand. Guests travelled from across the globe to be part of this unforgettable occasion, which spanned four days of festivities in the breathtaking landscapes of Sri Lanka. Each event had the couple’s personal touch, blending warmth, tradition, and aesthetic finesse.
Carnival colours and Sufi soul
The festivities began with a mehendi ceremony that embraced the vibrancy of a carnival. Multicoloured drapes, floral installations, mala beads, and interactive games kept the mood playful, while tarot readings and carnival-inspired activities delighted guests of all ages. As day turned to night, the atmosphere transformed into a soulful Sufi evening, illuminated with hanging lights and a plush stage. The highlight of the night was a captivating performance by Salman Ali, leaving the gathering spellbound.
A golden haldi of memories
The haldi ceremony unfolded in hues of gold, beautifully accented with sunflowers, lemons, beads, and handcrafted paper flowers mingled with fresh blooms. Anchor Chirag Vithalani filled the afternoon with laughter and games, while the couple fondly reminisced about their wedding day. What began as a traditional ritual blossomed into an occasion overflowing with joy and togetherness.
Moulin Rouge glamour at the sangeet
The sangeet embraced the opulence of Moulin Rouge. Rich red drapes, dazzling chandeliers, and vintage accents like gramophones and candles set the mood for an evening of glamour and performance. Friends and family took the stage, while a garden photobooth framed in crimson fabric became the hotspot for capturing memories. The ambience was both theatrical and intimate, making the night a resplendent highlight of the celebration.
Renewing vows by the sea
On the pristine shores of Sri Lanka, Tanya and Mukesh renewed their vows in a ceremony that was both emotional and enchanting. A floral mandap adorned with chandeliers overlooked the ocean, while the aisle was lined with blooms that created a dreamy setting. The bride walked in to a song dedicated to her husband, and the groom made a regal entrance as well. A live santoor performance by Mangesh Jagtap and his team added a soulful note to the seaside vows, making the moment unforgettable.
A reception of blue and white elegance
The grand reception sparkled in tones of blue and white. Guests entered through a floral archway, greeted by a butterfly-inspired display of names. The couple surprised everyone with a dramatic entry accompanied by ballet dancers, followed by mesmerising performances by Subhajit Chakraborty and Mansi Ghosh. Tables dressed in flowers and candles created the perfect setting for the final evening of celebration.
A joyous farewell in paradise
The celebration ended with a day of adventure and relaxation. Guests indulged in water sports, boat rides, and scenic excursions, followed by lunch at Cinnamon Bentota and dinner at Shang Palace. It was a fitting conclusion to four days of love and laughter, allowing everyone to savour Sri Lanka’s local flavours and natural beauty before bidding farewell.
