City lights to riverside vows in Goa: Inside Urvi and Anubhav's dreamy wedding
From a glamorous Gurgaon cocktail to a serene riverside wedding in Goa, this celebration was all about intimacy, intention and love.
Urvi Gauri and Anubhav Arora’s wedding unfolded across two distinct settings, each reflecting a different side of their story. Beginning with a high-energy cocktail evening in Gurgaon and culminating in a serene destination wedding in Goa, the celebrations moved between modern glamour and quiet intimacy. Spanning between October 30 and November 22, the wedding was shaped by meaningful choices and a strong sense of calm.
At its heart, the celebration was a reflection of their journey together. What began as a brief meeting at a mutual friend’s birthday in 2018 turned into something lasting after an Instagram exchange months later. Their relationship soon became long-distance when Arora moved to Canada, a phase that lasted nearly two years. The distance brought its own challenges, but it also strengthened their bond, making their eventual coming together feel all the more certain.
A proposal that almost didn't happen
Even though marriage had already been discussed with their families, Arora was determined to create a memorable proposal. After two failed attempts, the moment finally came together during a trip to Phuket. Despite already being engaged on paper, nerves took over, even leading him to back out once before going through with it. When he finally proposed, Gauri was genuinely surprised. The moment ended quietly, with the couple sitting together on a boat, letting the significance of it all sink in.
A glamorous beginning in Gurgaon
The celebrations began with a cocktail night at Trident, Gurgaon. With over 300 guests in attendance, the evening leaned into an Indo-western aesthetic, blending classic elegance with a lively, celebratory mood. Music and movement set the tone for what was to follow, marking a vibrant start to the wedding.
Mehendi by the greens
The celebrations then moved to Goa, where the mood shifted into something more relaxed and intimate. Held at Mercure Devaaya Resort, the mehendi was filled with colour, music and a warmth that reflected the couple’s dynamic. Surrounded by lush greenery and accompanied by live music, the afternoon felt unhurried and joyful, allowing guests to fully settle into the destination setting.
A riverside wedding
The wedding took place as a sundowner ceremony by the riverside, where nature became the defining element of the space. Soft pastel tones and minimal decor complemented the surroundings. As the evening light softened, the pheras unfolded in a setting that felt calm and emotional. With over 100 guests present, the ceremony carried an intimacy that made every moment feel meaningful.
What set Gauri and Arora’s wedding apart was not just its settings but the feeling it created. The riverside backdrop, the decision to keep the guest list intimate in Goa and the understated aesthetic all came together to form a celebration that felt personal.
For Gauri and Arora, the celebration was not about scale alone but about creating moments that felt true to them. From city glamour to a quiet riverside exchange of vows, their wedding told a story of love that grew steadily and was celebrated with equal parts elegance and ease.
