A swipe, shared scrubs, and a wedding in Udaipur for Madhura and Harrison
For Madhura and Harrison, what began with a dating app match and a five-hour first date unfolded into a celebration filled with family, emotion, and unforgettable moments at ITC Mementos Udaipur.
Some relationships arrive with certainty from the very beginning, and for Madhura and Harrison, the signs seemed impossible to ignore. She, an Obstetrics & Gynaecology resident physician, and he, a resident physician, first connected through a dating app swipe that quickly turned into a five-hour first date. Between conversations about medicine, life, and even a shared favourite grocery store, the pair realised they also worked at the same hospital. Somewhere between Madhura’s endless storytelling and Harrison’s quiet attentiveness, the connection settled into something effortless.
For the Michigan-based Indo-American-Japanese couple, the relationship unfolded naturally through travel, shared routines, and the comfort of familiarity. From trips across Mexico and Japan to meeting each other’s families and building a life together, their story slowly shaped itself into something deeply rooted and intentional.
Their next chapter officially began on April 12, 2025, when Harrison planned a proposal in Miami with the help of Madhura’s sister and close friends. Nearly a year later, the couple brought their loved ones together for a three-day wedding celebration at ITC Mementos Udaipur from March 10 to 12, 2026.
The festivities opened with a relaxed Welcome Lunch that eased guests into the celebrations before the Evening Gathering set the tone for the days ahead. Dressed in coordinated shades of blue, Madhura and Harrison made a lively entrance with sparklers, while heartfelt speeches and emotional moments carried the evening forward, especially words shared by Madhura’s father that stayed with everyone present.
The following day brought a brighter, more playful energy. Set against a fresh blue-and-white palette, the Haldi unfolded under the sun with laughter, games, and moments that brought both families closer together. By evening, the Mehendi and Sangeet shifted into richer jewel tones and candlelit intimacy, with performances and speeches creating some of the most memorable moments of the celebrations, including both fathers taking the stage together.
The wedding day itself embraced a softer, more emotional atmosphere. Whites and pastels framed the ceremony, allowing the moments to speak for themselves. From intimate first looks with their closest friends to the couple’s quiet pause together on the bridge before the ceremony, the day carried a sense of stillness amidst the scale of celebration.
Harrison fully embraced the spirit of the Indian wedding experience, arriving at the baraat on an elephant before the varmala ceremony unfolded, with both families leading the way. The pheras brought the celebrations back to tradition, grounding the wedding in meaning and emotion.
The celebrations ended with an afterparty hosted by the couple’s siblings, followed by a same-day edit film and fireworks lighting up the forested backdrop of Udaipur. Captured beautifully by The Knotting Bells, Madhura and Harrison’s wedding felt less like a grand spectacle and more like an honest reflection of a relationship built on companionship, warmth, and choosing each other through every chapter.
