14 years later, Anupama and Abhinav returned to Jaipur to get married where it all began
A female pundit, a live sitar performance, and a white wedding setup made this celebration unforgettable.
When Anupama Jethalia and Abhinav Saha first met as college students in Jaipur, they had no idea the city would one day become part of their forever story. She was a Marwari girl, he was a Bengali boy, and despite coming from completely different worlds, the connection felt easy from the start. Fourteen years, multiple cities, and countless life moments later, they found their way back to each other and back to the place where it all began.
For the couple, getting married in Jaipur felt less like a decision and more like coming home. Set against the historic beauty of Mundota Fort and Palace, the wedding was a testimony to their journey together. Every detail reflected their story, their families, and the life they had built over the years.
One of the most emotional moments came during Jethalia's bridal entry. She walked under a handprinted chadar marked with the handprints of her family, making the moment feel deeply personal and intimate. The ceremony itself was officiated by a female pundit, while live sitar music played softly through the pheras, adding warmth and calm to the atmosphere. As the rituals unfolded, both families came together on the dance floor for a traditional Marwari dance, turning the celebration into a beautiful merging of cultures.
Each function had its own distinct personality. The welcome evening was filled with rustic red tones, live band-baja, and heartfelt speeches from family and friends that set the tone for the days ahead. The haldi ceremony was hosted poolside and felt soft and sunlit, decorated with lilies and designed to feel relaxed. The sangeet brought a dramatic shift with statement chandeliers, vintage-inspired musical decor, and performances that carried the energy late into the night.
For the wedding ceremony, the couple chose an all-white setup beneath cascading floral chandeliers that made the entire evening feel straight out of a fairytale. Jethalia's wardrobe also reflected the changing mood of each event. She wore Gazal Gupta for the welcome celebration, Meyaa for the haldi, and Paulmi & Harsh for the sangeet.
For the wedding, she chose a deep purple Banarasi brocade lehenga by Marwar Couture paired with a teal-blue zari dupatta, subtly bringing together both her Marwari roots and Bengali influences.
After fourteen years together, their wedding was not just a celebration of love, but a reminder that sometimes the best stories end exactly where they begin.
