A 101 checklist for your dreamy Turks and Caicos honeymoon
Make your honeymoon smooth-sailing.
A honeymoon is supposed to help you relax and get away from all the din and chaos of the wedding. So, if you haven’t yet decided where you’re going, we have a recommendation for you! This list states all the reasons why Turks and Caicos Islands would make a phenomenal honeymoon spot for you.
Located in the British Virgin Islands, this spot is not as famous as its close cousin, the Bahamas, but is comparable in terms of the splendour and sights it offers. The Barrier Reef, known as one of the finest in the world, runs approximately 547 kilometres, bordering both islands. You can spot spectacular marine life here and feel rejuvenated like never before.
Enjoy fun activites at Grace Bay Beach
Turks and Caicos is ideal for those who love the beach. The only thing you would need while lazing under the sun and watching beautiful skies for hours is your sunscreen; keep it handy. You can choose from the many beach-side 5-star resorts that are lined up there, and never be too far from the ocean. On Grace Bay Beach you will find a host of activities to keep you entertained and it is probably one of the largest and least polluted beaches available to the public.
Live the Island Life
A few things to know before you go to Turks and Caicos: the islands have the lowest crime rates in the world and the main industry there is tourism. So, you know you will be very well taken care of. Also, there is no public transportation available on the island, so it's best to rent a car or if you’re feeling adventurous, a scooter and make your way around the island. You can also use the personal Taxi Service on the Island, which has good reviews.
Wine and dine at some of the best restaurants
Honeymoon is the perfect time to enjoy date nights with your significant other. If you like calm, secluded restaurants with a romantic ambiance, you must visit Grace’s Cottage. Known for late-night dinners and drinks, as well as amazing vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, this would be a great spot to savour your meals.
If you want to party all night, Infinity Restaurant and Raw Bar might just be the spot for you. A live DJ and karaoke will make your evening memorable.
Try your hand at water sports
The beaches at Turks and Caicos offer some really fun water sports like free-diving, snorkeling, e-foil surfing (floating on a board above water), and even sea scooters. The list goes on. Adrenaline junkies, this is your chance!
Go wildlife/whale watching
One of the best activities you can participate in, especially if you’re not the type to enjoy water sports and would like something more calm yet adventurous, is whale watching! The best places you can whale watch would be Grand Turk and Salt Cay. There are also several eco-tours you can check out!
Marvel at the island's natural wonders (Conch Bar Caves)
If you’re worried about getting bored of the beach (yes, I’m judging you), there are other things to see. The Conch Bar Caves in the middle of Caicos is a stunning cave system above ground and is sure to make some amazing picture spots for you and your significant other.
