Spring/Summer '20 brought something for everyone to take off the runways this fall.

Eyeliner Drama

Amy Winehouse might have immortalised it, but the dramatic cat eye is back, softer, curvier and with lots of glam. Add glitter, make it broader, go graphic or smudge the edges, there's a lot to play around with this eyeliner trend, as they did at Halpern, Ashish and a few others.

Get inspired by the deconstructed liner by Miranda Joyce at Matty Bovan.

Or try this modernist liner in unusual colours like Denim blue or Malbec red, as they did at Victoria Beckham.

Vivid Eyes

Brightly coloured eyes have been taking over ramps everywhere across the world. From the two-tinted pastels for Payal Singhal at Lakme Fashion Week to the neon monochrome eyes for Mark Fast at Milan Fashion Week, it's time to call it a trend.

Take inspiration from Oscar De La Renta's show where Tom Pecheux used two-toned strokes of pink and orange to match the collection's solar colour palette.

Or go bolder and do a monochrome eye in neons like Pablo Rodriguez did at Mark Fast. Start with a lighter shade covering the whole eye and adding definition with a more intense shade of the same colour.

Au Naturel Face

The fresh, glowing from within face was the most popular look on the ramp this season, with major brands like Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and Kith opting for this. Makeup artist could be seen backstage at shows giving facials using top skincare products instead of makeup.

Take a note from Zoe Taylor at Regina Pyo who prepped the models' faces with Moroccan Argan Oil for that natural, hydrated and healthy glow.

Do it as Sada Ito did for Toga using Nars Cosmetics skincare range for glowing, plump skin, contrasted by strong straight eyebrows, an easy to replicate routine that can make you look chic instantly.

The Dark Lip

While the fashion world has been on and off about dark or black lips, this trend definitely saw a rise this season with brands like Marques’ Almeida, Natasha Zinko and a few looks for Emilia Wickstead opting for this bold, bordering on goth lip colour.

We like Terry Barberon's work for Marquis Almeida and her method of using a black liquid lippie and topping it with a lipglass for the PVC effect, giving it a very sensual and edgy look.

We also suggest trying Hiromi Ueda's version of dark lips for Molly Goddard, concentrated the colour at the centre and ombre-ed out at the corners of your lips. It's a clever way to rock a dark lip without it overpowering your face.

The Classic Red

The bold red lip made its way on to the runway, once again proving it's not going anywhere anytime soon. From Emilia Wickstead, Bora Aksu, Sies Marjan, Chromat, Tomo Koizumi to Yuhan Wang, this look was a reigning classic. We've heard everything that is there to be heard about the red lip: to not do a strong eye with it, to find the right red for your undertone, to do it matte, to do it glossy and so on.

We say, do what your heart wants, you can never go wrong with a red.
