Your solution to glowing and even skin.

Tomatoes are a wonder fruit. Not only is it one of the most used ingredients in the world but it also has properties that make it useful for our face and hair. And no matter your relationship with tomatoes, you can’t deny that when used regularly, tomatoes can do wonders for our skin. We’ve listed down the host of benefits it offers.

Rich in vitamins

Consuming one or two tomatoes on a daily basis can contribute to brightening up the skin. Tomatoes contain high levels of vitamins A and C, which are essential for healthy skin. Vitamin A promotes cell renewal and helps even the skin tone, while vitamin C stimulates collagen production, improving skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of dark spots.

Reduces pigmentation

Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that has been linked to various skin benefits. Lycopene helps in reducing skin discolouration, such as dark spots and pigmentation, caused by sun damage or ageing. It acts as a natural sunscreen by neutralising harmful free radicals generated by UV radiation.

Tightens pores

Large pores are home to pollution, dust, leftover make-up and everything that is harmful to your skin. Tomatoes are a great substitute for products to shrink them naturally, especially if you have oily skin. They act as a natural astringent which shrinks large pores and reduces breakouts.

Removes dead skin

Mild exfoliation of the skin is necessary to deep cleanse our pores (something our everyday cleansers don’t do). However, if you don’t want to expose your skin to chemical exfoliants, try using a tomato. The enzymes in a tomato can gently exfoliate the skin, clean out dead skin cells, and leave you with an even texture.

Soothes irritation

The antioxidant properties of tomatoes have the power to soothe agitated skin. So, whether you have an angry pimple or a mild sunburn, tomatoes can help you. Of course, they cant solve your concern alone but they sure can speed up the process.
