These New Luxury Watches Wooed Our Hearts!
The latest timepieces by Chanel, and Romain Gauthier are nothing short of impeccable.
Watches don't just tell the time, they exude the wearer's personality. These new watches released by Chanel and Romain Gauthier are impactful and brilliant.
1. CODE COCO by Chanel
With its rich heritage, fashion powerhouse Chanel is iconic in its own right. It is the epitome of Parisian chic, and we love their modern take on the house’s iconic pieces. So when the house launched a brand new watch towards the end of 2017, we couldn’t resist looking at the iconic references, and we must say, Chanel is nailing their watch game all right.
The brand released their latest timepiece, CODE COCO — a bejewelled watch in stainless steel, available in two variants; with or without a diamond-set bezel. The name pays tribute to the various codes that the historic French fashion house has, like their signature quilting, and the predominant elegance in their designs.
CODE COCO draws references from the iconic Chanel 2.55 bag. Comprising of tiny squares, the stainless steel bracelet of the watch reminds us of the matelassé quilting design on 2.55. A clasp-like rectangular bar sits right above the dial, and is an exact replica of the one found on the iconic 2.55 bag.
Interestingly, this clasp can be rotated — it reveals the time when it is perpendicular to the bracelet, and conceals it when flipped to a parallel. This allows for a fun and discreet way of time-keeping. We’re totally digging it!
2. Insight Micro-Rotor Lady by Romain Gauthier
Swiss luxury watchmaker Romain Gauthier is one of the most promising watch manufacturers the last two decades has produced. His watches have a certain complexity and beauty to them, that make for an interesting buy. At this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève, the brand released the Insight Micro-Rotor Lady, an elegant wristwatch for women.
The watch features a circular mother-of-pearl dial, contrasting textures, and a diamond-studded oscillating weight, that gives it a striking appearance. Add to it, the visibly intricate engineering of the micro-rotor, and ladies, you get a watch that is not just pretty to look at.
Available in two variants, a red gold case with a Tahitian black mother-of-pearl dial or an Australian white mother-of-pearl one, this watch is a limited edition one with only 10 pieces of each kind.
We are in love with both. Which one are you?
