"Opt for a high neck full sleeve blouse or bodysuit and make a statement," says Esha.
"The quickest way to add a contemporary touch to your sari is to cinch it with a complimenting belt and if it’s a softer sari let the pallu fall over giving it a Grecian touch," says Esha.
"A chic crop top from your wardrobe can be used instead of a conventional blouse. Add a statement necklace or earrings before you head out," says Esha.
"Ditch the blouse and wear a shirt with a statement choker or dramatic sleeves to give your basic saree a unique look," adds Esha.
"Step up your style game by pairing your sari with shararas, a tube or one shoulder top with a heavy necklace around the neck," says Esha.
"Drape your saree in the double draping style and pair it with a heavily embellished dupatta or a shawl," says Esha.
For a fuss-free, functional look, drape the long pallu over your neck. Keep your hands free, in case you want to break into a jig.
"An overlay or an overcoat with a sari for winters will instantly give a chic contemporary look," suggests Swasti Shah, brand manager, Shanti Banaras, a contemporary Banarasi sari label.
"Pair your sari with tailored pants or a dhoti instead of a petticoat for a fusion look. You can also drape your sari like dhoti to give it a fun twist," says Esha Amin, celebrity stylist.
