7 Surprising Habits That Are Actually Ruining Your Bridal Fitness Regime

We bet you didn't know about bad habit number 6!

Can't seem to lose the excess kilos despite all the workouts and diets? Well, you may need to take a closer look at your lifestyle. Sometimes seemingly harmless eating habits can actually add up to ruin your weight loss journey.

The key is to find a routine that works for you and notice your bad habits that could be having a bad effect on your health goals. Holistic health coach and founder of MyEurekaLife, Mayuri Punjabi, shares 7 surprising bad habits that are actually ruining your fitness regime:

Stop over-snacking!

"You don’t need to eat eight times a day, and should allow your digestive system a rest in between meals."

Know when to hydrate

"Do not drink liquids during your meals as it causes the digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid in your stomach to dilute, which makes it weaker and slows down the digestion process. This can lead to bloating and general discomfort. Therefore, drink liquids 30 minutes before and after a meal, never while eating."

Never compromise on your sleep

"Those who say that, “sleep is for the weak”, are seriously mistaken. Seven to nine hours of sleep is required unless you’d like to wreak havoc on your health."

Be cautious of labels and the ingredients list

"The ingredient that is listed first is the most present, in terms of quantity. However, it is important to look out for ways in which sugar can sneak its way into ingredients lists, especially when masked under scientific terminology."

Listen to what your body is telling you

"Don’t just jump on the bandwagon of the next fad, as it may not be right for you. We are an evolved species and have done so without any fad diets or supplements."

Pay attention to hidden sugars

"Contrary to popular belief, fruit contains more sugar than you might think, and is no healthier than the sugar found in junk foods. Typically, a regular-sized full-sugar soft drink contains about 7-8 teaspoons of sugar, while a large apple may contain between 3-4 teaspoons, depending on how ripe a fruit is. Fruits that are riper can raise your insulin levels, causing you to feel hungry again more quickly and can cause your body to go into fat storage mode."

Think about your drink!

"So much of what we consume contain added sugars, colouring, preservatives, and when it doesn’t we end up adding sugar, milk, creamers. You don’t need these! Retrain your tongue to relish the taste and quench your thirst with… water! My go-to beverages are water, sparkling water, black coffee and plain teas."
