A Celebrity Makeup Artist Shares Her Soft, Fresh Summer Makeup Look

Step 1: Prep and Prime

Before starting your makeup, it's crucial to prep your skin, either with a sheet mask or a primer, which allows for a clear canvas to help the products blend well. 

Step 2: Corrector, Concealer, and Foundation

The colour correcting method which makes use of complementary colours—ones that are directly opposite in the colour spectrum—work to cancel out any skin discoloration. Following this, apply concealer and foundation with a beauty blender to ensure that the products blend well into your skin, giving it an all-natural finish.

Step 3: Loose and Under-Eye Powder

Make sure that you powder your skin well—ideally with a loose powder—so as to maintain long-lasting results. You may also choose to apply an under-eye powder to smoothen out the skin, and add a touch of glow to your face.

Step 4: Contouring and Blush 

The next step involves adding structure and dimension to your face, with the help of a contour palette and blush. Contour your face according to its shape, to give it some definition, and add a swipe of pink-hued blush on the apples of your cheeks for a flushed look.

Step 5: Cream or Powder Highlighter 

Pick between a cream-based or a powder highlighter, depending on the location, the purpose, and the weather. During hot and humid weather, go for the powdered variety, however, if it's an enclosed, air-conditioned space, you could touch up with a cream highlighter as well.
