Super chill and chic, Ananya Panday talks about her personal style and the beauty tricks up her sleeve.
How would you describe your personal style?
Super chill and comfortable. I know that if I’m not comfortable then I will be in a bad mood the entire night.
You recently wore an outfit inspired by the film, Clueless. What do you love about its style?
It’s a timeless film, one that I can watch again and again. The fashion from that period is also coming back—the mini-skirts, bucket hats, tiny sunglasses, and fuzzy scarves.
Who is your style icon?
Karan [Johar]. He is so unabashedly himself. He is experimental but still so comfortable in his skin. The other day we were at an event and he was wearing four-inch heels.
Do you enjoy wearing makeup?
I’ve actually just begun enjoying doing my own makeup since I’ve started acting. I’m working with such talented people and learning so much about my own face.
Is there a beauty trend you’re enjoying trying out?
I’m obsessed with pink eyeshadow and blush.
What are you working on right now?
My second film Pati Patni Aur Woh, is out in December. And I’m currently shooting for Khaali Peeli with Ishaan Khatter.
How was your experience being Gaurav Gupta’s muse?
He’s a bit crazy and I feel like I am too, so we really got along. His outfits were so sculptural, I felt like I was an artwork.
