On 15th February, actor and UN Environment Goodwill Embassador, Dia Mirza tied the knot with businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in a private ceremony. On the auspicious occasion the actor donned a gorgeous banarasi sari by Raw Mango, complimenting it with opulent jewellery and fragrant mogra in the hair.

The simple and soulful nuptials were held in the garden Dia spent most of her mornings for the last 19 years! The close-knit affair took place in the presence of a mere 60 people, with near and dear one's in attendance. Besides, the micro wedding was highly personalised, adhering to the privacy of the couple. Lit by the ashen skies amidst the surreal decor, the wedding was nothing short of a symphony for the soul.

Dia Mirza took to social media to share glimpses of the beautiful ceremony. Her caption read, 'Love is a full-circle that we call home. And what a miracle it is to hear its knock, open the door and be found by it. Sharing this moment of completion and joy with you..my extended family. May all puzzles find their missing pieces, may all hearts heal and may the miracle of love continue to unfold all around us.'

Founder and Creative Head of Aash Studio, Aashna Saran was the woman behind the scenes—the one who brought Dia Mirza's vision to life and turned her dream wedding into a reality.

Speaking about the decor details she said, 'Being a connoisseur of eco-friendly living, Dia wanted the decor to be sustainable; without any usage of plastic. Such environment friendly elements were incorporated through cut glass candle holders, brass plates, jute fabric, diya jaalis to add glitter, and a lot more.'

Going an extra mile, Aashna handpicked brands and vendors that were homegrown and supported the ‘Made in India’ initiative. 'The flowers that featured in the wedding decor were all hyperlocal Indian blooms such as mogra, rajnigandha, and shevanti ladis,' she adds.

Besides jumping on the 'green wedding' bandwagon, the celebrity ceremony also showcased heartwarming personalised highlights; such as bells attached to the guests chairs to ring during the pheras and personalised notes that were placed on each chair to remind the guest about the important role they played in the couple's life.

'Dia being the epitome of humbleness and elegance, the wedding was specially designed to reflect her profound taste,' explains Aashna.

Many fans also happened to notice that the wedding was being officiated by a female priestess, rather than the tradition male pandit. The couple welcomed applause and praise for this conscious decision, indicative of a step in the right direction towards feminism.

The bridal entry was possibly the most heartwarming aspect of the affair. Dia walked towards the wedding mandap with her niece and nephew holding a signage that read, 'Here comes your Bride', lead by a young girl holding a basket full of flower petals.
