Real Weddings: A Royal Celebration of Love in a Palace

Kanupriya Garg and Avinash Reddy had their meet-cute in Dubai. Their first few meetings involved off-roading in the desert, a hike in the wadis, a swim at the beach, sharing pizza, and many more adrenaline-boosting activities. Two adventurous years later, the couple decided to strengthen their friendship into love by tying the knot in November 2020.  Prerika Puri, founder and creative head at To The Aisle helped the couple realise their royal wedding dreams, the pandemic notwithstanding, in the gorgeous Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad.  “We must admit, the wedding was not a cakewalk to plan since it came across in a rough patch of the pandemic with only 60 days in hand to plan from scratch. This was a difficult time to plan a wedding because the country was still reeling from the shock of the pandemic, and everything we planned took on a new twist every day. We had to cope up with numerous cancelled flights, change of dates, rescheduled flights to bring each guest and artist to Hyderabad," she says. Not only this the cyclone in Chennai almost caused the groom himself to miss the wedding! Add to that, the pouring rain in Hyderabad just two days before the wedding. Yet, as Preika says, "All is well that ends well. We were blessed with the most beautiful and supportive families on both ends. They took each challenge with us and believed in us that we would surpass them all and give them the wedding of their dreams.”
